Instructions
- Preheat the air fryer to 200°C (390°F) if using the air fryer method. If using the oven method, preheat the oven to 200°C (390°F) and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
- Clean the button mushrooms and trim the stems. Put the in a bowl and add all the seasoning ingredients. Mix well so that all the mushrooms are evenly coated.
- Set up three separate bowls: one with gluten-free flour, one with chickpea flour mixed with water to create a batter, and one with gluten-free breadcrumbs
- Dredge each coated mushroom first in the gluten-free flour, then dip into the chickpea flour batter, and finally coat again with the seasoned gluten-free breadcrumbs.
- For the air fryer method: Spray the air fryer basket with olive oil. Place the coated mushrooms in the basket in a single layer, ensuring they do not overlap. Spray the tops of the mushrooms with olive oil. Air fry for 10-15 minutes, shaking the basket halfway through, until golden brown and crispy.
- For the oven method: Place the coated mushrooms on the prepared baking sheet. Spray the tops of the mushrooms with olive oil. Bake for 20-25 minutes, flipping halfway through, until golden brown and crispy.
