Black Forest Cups
A layered dessert with Oreo cookie crumbs, sour cherry and rum filling, and vegan whipped cream, inspired by the classic Black Forest cake.

Layers Instructions
- Drain the cherries, reserving the juice. In a saucepan, combine about 5 tablespoons of cherry juice, the cherries, rum, and sugar, and heat until the sugar dissolves.
- Prepare the agar according to package instructions, using the remaining cherry juice (as directed by your agar package) and then mix it into the cherry mixture. Let it cool to lukewarm, stirring every few minutes.
- Crush the Oreo cookies (freezer bag + rolling pin, or pulse in a food processor). Add 1 teaspoon of cookie crumble to each cup.
- Whip the vegan whipped cream until stiff. Pipe a small layer of whipped cream into each cup over the cookie base.
- Spoon in the cherry mixture and top with more whipped cream.
- Garnish with chocolate or any topping of your choice. Refrigerate overnight and store in an airtight container for up to a week.
Notes
- Stir the cherry-agar mixture while it cools so it thickens evenly and doesn’t clump.
- Refrigerating overnight gives the best texture and cleaner layers.
