A layered dessert with Oreo cookie crumbs, sour cherry and rum filling, and vegan whipped cream, inspired by the classic Black Forest cake.

Instructions

  1. Drain the cherries, reserving the juice. In a saucepan, combine 5 tablespoons of cherry juice, the cherries, rum, and sugar, and cook until the sugar dissolves.
  2. Prepare the agar according to package instructions, using the remaining cherry juice instead of just water, then mix with the cherry mixture. Set aside and stir every few minutes.
  3. Crush the Oreo cookies either by using a freezer bag and rolling pin or pulsing in a food processor. Add 1 teaspoon of cookie crumble to each cup.
  4. Whip the vegan whipped cream, fill a piping bag with the nozzle of your choice, and pipe a small layer of whipped cream into each cup.
  5. Add the cherry mixture into each cup and top with more whipped cream.
  6. Garnish with chocolate or any topping of your choice. Refrigerate overnight and store in an airtight container for up to a week.
