A layered dessert with Oreo cookie crumbs, sour cherry and rum filling, and vegan whipped cream, inspired by the classic Black Forest cake.
Instructions
- Drain the cherries, reserving the juice. In a saucepan, combine 5 tablespoons of cherry juice, the cherries, rum, and sugar, and cook until the sugar dissolves.
- Prepare the agar according to package instructions, using the remaining cherry juice instead of just water, then mix with the cherry mixture. Set aside and stir every few minutes.
- Crush the Oreo cookies either by using a freezer bag and rolling pin or pulsing in a food processor. Add 1 teaspoon of cookie crumble to each cup.
- Whip the vegan whipped cream, fill a piping bag with the nozzle of your choice, and pipe a small layer of whipped cream into each cup.
- Add the cherry mixture into each cup and top with more whipped cream.
- Garnish with chocolate or any topping of your choice. Refrigerate overnight and store in an airtight container for up to a week.
